AFTERBURN REPORT 2013
Burning Man is as much about what happens in Black Rock City as what people do once they've left the playa. Over the years, a number of entities have grown from the fertile ground of Black Rock City, with the mission of forwarding the culture, ethos and principles of Burning Man by manifesting them in their business models.
The Black Rock Arts Foundation, our sister non-profit, brings the art and spirit of Burning Man into our daily lives through public art, community and civic participation.
Black Rock Solar builds low- or no-cost solar power in underserved communities, while teaching people how to install renewable energy.
Burners Without Borders facilitates volunteers interested in manifesting Burning Man principles in the world by gifting their time and talents to help others.
The Burning Man Regional Network is the year-round embodiment of the Burning Man experience, supporting it as a global cultural movement. In cities around the world, the Burning Man Project has established Regional Contacts whose role is to help local Burners connect with each other, while bringing Burning Man principles and culture into their local communities.
Gifting, civic participation, and art ... we are proud to see Burning Man's core principles manifested in these fantastic organizations, part of Burning Man's growing cultural network.
